Advocating Anti-Corruption Culture Through Advocacy

Djembe supported the Global Fund in its ‘Speak Out!’ campaign, which aimed to combat corruption and fraud in the donor organization’s key markets, including Ivory Coast, Malawi and the Ukraine. The Global Fund provides funding and aid for the prevention and control of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

The public advocacy campaign consisted of surveying key stakeholder groups, developing campaign positioning and messaging, providing strategic guidance and tailored communications programs to address the unique political and cultural facets of each market to achieve campaign objectives and overall communications goals.

Strategic Execution by Djembe

  • Conducted audience and influencer research to inform development of Campaign
  • Drafted campaign plan covering media outreach, content development, influencer outreach and engagement; and Campaign evaluation metrics
  • Created Campaign narrative and key messages that were tested via focus groups and surveys to ensure relevance and impact of highlighting potential ROI from strategic investments in equity around health and development
  • Developed Campaign assets based on narrative and key messages, including PSA, imagery, social, mobile and mass media assets
  • Implemented Campaign through activation of campaign assets via traditional media engagement and influencer mobilization
