Driving Female Entrepreneurship

The SheTrades initiative by the International Trade Centre (ITC) seeks to connect three million women entrepreneurs to market by 2021. The initiative provides women entrepreneurs and women-owned SMEs around the world with a unique network and platform to connect to markets.

In December 2019, the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), a member of the Islamic Development Group (IsDB) with a mandate to advance trade and improve lives across member countries, formed an alliance with ITC to create and launch the SheTrades Morocco Chapter.

Other local partners and supporting organizations include the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), Association of Women Entrepreneurs in Morocco (AFEM), National Federation of Agro Food (FENAGRI) and the Fédération des Industries de Conserve des Produits Agricoles du Maroc (FICOPAM).

  • Djembe supported the MoU via announcements a North Africa-wide media announcement as well as a series strategic interviews with key spokespeople from ITFC and local Ministries and associations
  • A social media announcement also echoed the announcement
